Jenny Turner works in superfine Tasmanian Lambswool, sent to Japan to be spun specially for the handloom. The qualities of superfine merino wool historically associated with Tasmanian are thus transformed into unique one – of – a – kind accessories.
All her work is hand dyed (using commercial dyes) and hand woven in the “One – Off Studio” in Tasmania.
Using the best wool in the world, combining it with superb colour combinations, and unique approach to weave design, these are highly individual pieces.
Her work is in the collection of the National Gallery and other state and regional galleries. She had exhibited in Japan, Switzerland, America and the Philippines, and has large-scale commissioned work in buildings throughout Tasmania and Melbourne.
She has been the recipient of many awards, including the Fujii Keori Fellowship and the City of Hobart Art Prize.
