Linda van Niekerk considers herself a conceiver of wearable sculpture rather than a jeweller and follows her own unconventional approach to design. She relocated to the beautiful Huon Valley in Tasmania's South from Sydney in 2005.
Her desire is to create simple, elegantly informal sculptural forms, pieces that do not conform to the dictates of the marketplace or current fashion. Her aim is for the bold, visually striking one-off pieces to encourage the wearer to be proud and walk-tall.

Although much of Linda’s work reflects the aesthetic of her birthplace, Africa, she finds herself increasingly seduced by the incredible natural beauty of her new home.

She was the finalist in two prestigious contemporary jewellery
awards in Australia in 2006 and 2007. She has presented solo exhibitions and has been an active participant in group exhibitions in Sydney, Hobart, Launceston, and Singapore.
